The Northwoods...

We took off for a long weekend last Thursday since Matthew didn't have school the following day. Friends of ours invited us up to their lake house in upper Wisconsin. What a wonderful time we had! This family has three boys, one of which is in Matthew's Kindergarten class and Matthew had a ball doing boy stuff all weekend. He even chose to sleep with them in the loft! Ella Jane loved her time too and both were sad to leave. We are back home now and into our routine again. Tomorrow we have open house at Matthew's school. Makes me feel like such a parent...attending an open house.

I do...10yrs. later

Today is that big day 10yrs. ago when Jim and I said "I do." Married for 10yrs.! Wow, what an accomplishment. We will go out to dinner as a family to celebrate and explain to the kids why it's such an important day. I can't say it's been an easy road to walk but it does make each year that much sweeter. Today we say "whew! we made it!"

Mama She-She and Betty...

Ella Jane has a funny nickname for Sara these days. Well it's only funny for the Suyetsugu's I suppose. But she gets this funny voice and says mama she-she over and over to Sara. Ella Jane and Matthew have very distinct ways of interacting with her. Matthew almost always dances or spins, while Ella Jane almost always uses the mama she-she voice.

She's also coined the name Betty onto one of her Little People toys. She talks to Betty and asks her how she's doing and so on. It's so funny to hear her in the next room talking to Betty.

Lil' camper...

Camping...

We went camping this weekend. Just for one night. And we decided that maybe the boys were better at camping than the girls. At least for the time being. Jim and I had a few laughs but were really tired when we got home. Here are a few pics of Matthew on the swings...

Another loss...

Sadly, we lost another Univeristy student; this time to a motorcycle accident. Please pray for the campus, the students and the community as they grieve and mourn, as well as for Jim and others involved in planning another memorial.

Overloaded...

...sigh...it's been a hectic and emotional couple of weeks. We had a tragedy here at the University; a student recently died and Jim being the chaplain has been in full chaplain mode I guess you'd say. He's been caring for the families by praying with them and offering support to students who need and outlet for their grief. He is emotionally drained by all that has happened and in need of a break.

Life at home has been trying just because we are all so tired. Sara has had a rough few nights GOING to sleep; I think she's just so overtired she can't do anything else but scream. Oh how I think we all could scream with her if we got right down to it!

Matthew came home with a fever yesterday so he is home with us today. It's a nice change of pace. We got to sleep in and at 9:30am we are just now getting dressed. Ella Jane is in her tutu for the 3rd day in a row. She got tired of waiting for me to wash it so dug it out from the dirty clothes basket last week. Oh my.
